We are LDM5, a contemporary dance collective from Latvia, formed in 2018 by contemporary dance program graduates of the Latvian Academy of Culture. Currently we are seven artists and two producers who, alongside our individual practices, come together in different constellations to create collaborative work.​

Our artistic approach is rooted in challenging what we know, exploring new forms, developing skills, and seeking diverse contexts and audiances for performance. While each of us brings a distinct signature, we share a commitment to experimentation, staying connected to the present, and moving beyond the familiar.

 

We work both locally and internationally, with a particular interest in improvisation and contact improvisation, partnering, areal dance, site-specific work, and community engagement, while remaining open to a wider range of approaches and collaborations.
